Why it earns its place

What you get.

  • Single-setup machining of complex geometry: fewer fixtures, and fewer stacked tolerances between operations.
  • Meehanite-class cast frame, damped for chatter-free finishing at aggressive feeds.
  • Ballbar and laser-interferometer verified on install, with a signed report you keep.
  • Open controls and full documentation, so your team can service it without a support ticket.

The Vertex 5X is our flagship machining centre: a trunnion-style 5-axis platform built for shops that machine complex parts in small-to-medium batches and can't afford to lose accuracy across setups.

Where it fits

Five-axis earns its keep when a part has features on multiple faces. Every time you re-fixture a part on a 3-axis machine, you stack another tolerance and another chance to scrap it. The Vertex 5X puts those features in one setup: the part is clamped once, and every surface is cut from the same datum.

That matters most for:

  • Aerospace and defence components with angled bosses and pockets
  • Oil and gas valve bodies and flow geometry
  • Medical and dental implants
  • Tool, die and mould work with deep cavities

Configuration options

The base platform is fixed; the rest is specified to your parts. Spindle taper, control brand, tool magazine size, coolant strategy and probing are all chosen during scoping. We'd rather ask what you're cutting than sell you a catalogue number.

Support

Every Vertex ships with mechanical, electrical and controls documentation, a spares list with local stock, and training for your operators and maintenance team. When something needs attention, the engineer who commissioned it is a short drive away.
