About Zavod

The industrial partner the region was missing.

Zavod exists to close a gap: the distance between the factories that build the UAE and the companies that build their machines. We do both, under one roof and accountable for the result.

Our mission

Give the region control over the machines it runs on.

For decades, industrial capability meant a purchase order sent overseas and a long wait for parts and know-how that never quite arrived. We think that's backwards for one of the world's most ambitious manufacturing economies.

So we built Zavod: a single team that designs and builds CNC machinery, breathes new life into legacy equipment, and integrates the robotics and automation that tie a modern plant together, all engineered and supported locally.

The founders

Two builders, one conviction.

Zavod was started to give the region a local base of Emirati engineering: one that can sustain its industries without waiting on foreign vendors, builds machines that rival European standards at a cost and reliability the market can't get elsewhere, and answers the phone fast when a client needs help.

SS

Shan Salman

Founder & Chief Engineer

A Russian-trained engineer who has spent fifteen years on the factory floors of the Gulf, Shan founded Zavod on a single observation: the region's industry was as ambitious as any, yet tethered to vendors an ocean away. Where others wrote off machines as too old or too broken to save, he saw systems simply waiting to be understood.

His fluency spans the full stack of industrial control: power electronics and switchgear, variable-frequency drives, the fieldbus and communication protocols that let a plant think as one, and the precision machining that turns tolerance into product. That range made him indispensable. A quiet roster of manufacturers came to regard him as the first name they call when a line goes down, and the one they keep calling long after it runs again.

Zavod is the institution built around that trust.

AN

Abdullah Al Nayssi

Co-Founder · Software & Electronics

An Emirati software developer and electronics engineer, Abdullah sharpened his craft in Sydney and returned with a conviction that the standard of work he had seen abroad belonged at home. He is, by temperament, a tinkerer who takes a thing apart to understand why it works before making it work better.

He is the bridge between Zavod's steel and its software, marrying hands-on electronics with modern code so that every system we deliver is as intelligent in its control as it is exacting in its build. Where Shan brings the hard-won instincts of the plant floor, Abdullah brings the rigor of software and a quiet refusal to accept “good enough.”

What we stand for

Principles we don't compromise on.

Engineered, not assembled

We design from first principles for your parts and tolerances, not rebadged imports with a warranty sticker.

Serviceable by design

Open controls, documented parameters and local spares. You own your uptime, not a distant vendor.

Proven before handover

Accuracy and cycle time are verified and documented against spec before anything leaves our floor.

Rooted in the region

Built in the Emirates for the plants that run here, with support measured in hours, not shipping lead times.

Our story

Why Zavod exists.

The gap

A region that builds, importing what it builds with

UAE manufacturers were highly capable operators tied to machines they couldn't service and controls they couldn't open.

The idea

Bring the whole capability home

One team to design machines, retrofit legacy iron, integrate robots and automate lines, accountable end to end.

Today

The first of its kind in the UAE

Zavod delivers and supports complete industrial systems locally, closing the loop between machine builder and machine owner.

Next

The backbone of regional manufacturing

Scaling local engineering talent and capacity so the region's factories run on machines made beside them.
